Week Five

January 29, 2022 I didn't get my goal done for this week but I promise I will get back to recording about Disney before I take our next trip to Walt Disney World which I booked this past week. I won't bore you with details quite yet but we are staying at a new to us resort.  Jule celebrated another birthday this past Wednesday (the day I booked the trip, which was her gift from me). She is truthfully my best friend! I was reminded about one of my favorite verses which I used to refer to on my board at school Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, BUT fools despise wisdom and instruction...  I sit here watching my son waking up from a nap and I am reminded of that love the Father has for us. He has unconditional love for us, He has given us so much more than we can ever pay back and all He asks from us is to love Him back.

Week Four

January 22, 2022 Since the last time I wrote the area has been blanketed with snow and we pretty much shut down fully for a few days and as as for school/work the whole week. There were no church services last Sunday except for a FaceTime message from our pastor. So what does that mean for the upcoming week? I am not sure except to say I am ready for a bit more normal.  I am getting ready to return to the podcast (Main Street Memories) soon. It started out almost a year ago as a father/daughter joint venture and we recorded and posted fifteen episodes for season one before my daughter headed to SCAD this past fall and we have not begun season two as we had planned to do. When she was home for the holidays we agreed that I would record new episodes and she would post them. So this weekend I will prepare and possibly record episode sixteen of  the show. Be prepared to download it on your favorite podcast server (Apple, Spotify etc...) If you haven't done so before you can listen to

Week Three Snow

January 15, 2022 As I write this we in North Carolina are expecting a major winter system to move in and dump HOPEFULLY snow and very little ice. If it is just snow we should be fine but if ice is involved we are looking at possible power outages. I hate to say this but I might be to blame for this. How you may ask well in my daily conversation with the  Creator on Monday I was talking with Him as to IF there was going to be no snow maybe our weather could warm up a bit (I usually have my conversations with Him on the bus, don't worry I pray with my eyes open...) it was COLD this particular morning. Later that afternoon I was checking my weather app and low and behold the SNOW signage popped up for this weekend about a 75% chance. Throughout the week the percentages never went below that, in fact, they increased to where the likelihood of a snow/ice event was hovering near 100%.  I know that the snow issue seems silly to those who deal with it on a more frequent basis but we are d

Week Two

January 8, 2022 What a week. Came home from Florida on Monday, went back to work for a half day on Tuesday and Jule had surgery on her sinuses on Wednesday and was admitted to the hospital later that afternoon. She had pneumonia which meant I had both Thursday and Friday off. Jule is home and recovering.  That was my quick recap I have done a lot of thinking this past week and my bible reading this past week dealt with normal life versus better than normal life. We live in a world but are not of this world. Living a "normal" life is typical but our normal changes when the majority accepts things as new normals. How many times have we said that life was different twenty years ago or heard about the GOOD OLD DAYS. What we as Christians should strive for is a life better than normal. This life has only one Lord and Savior and that is Jesus Christ. James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Happy New Year! 2022

It is supposed to be a time to make resolutions, so here it goes. I plan to do a weekly blog in which I just ramble and reflect. For those of you who know me there will be some familiar themes to my writing (um uh Disney, photography, family, and faith). Throw in some vacation recaps and some political rants and you may have an idea of where this will go.  However, we will look first back to 2021. It seemed at times to snail along and other times it flew by fast. We visited as a family Walt Disney World on two different occasions (four if you count day stops to Disney Springs). My two oldest started new parts of their lives one going to Savanna, Georgia to school and the other to Sanford, Florida (that explains why we visited Disney Springs a couple times without going into the parks. These lead us into something we had always thought MIGHT happen but now it HAS happened. We have bought a house in Florida. Right now, it is referred to as the vacation home. In a few years it may become
